The UK’s Tesco supermarket is adding the pet-centric Pawsecco and Bottom Sniffer beer to its alcohol-free range this week, so allowing four-legged friends to join the alcohol-free party.
It describes Pawsecco as a “non-alcoholic, non-carbonated grape-free ‘wine’ drink containing a blend of elderflower, nettle, ginseng and limeflower”. Bottom Sniffer beer, meanwhile, is made from “flax, dandelion, burdock and nettle and is designed to create a feeling of well-being”.
The handful of reviews of Pawsecco on Amazon are generally not good. Bottom Sniffer achieved rather more positive feedback, albeit relayed second-hand.
Both drinks go on sale at Tesco stores across the UK on Wednesday, both costing £3 a bottle. Over the last two Christmases Tesco says it has seen demand for festive pet gifts quadruple.
Demand for alcohol free drinks tailored to the tastes of bipedal consumers has also risen dramatically. ■
